The food is wonderful, great portion sizes, and it feels cozy! They come around regularly and make sure you're taken care of. Truly one of my favorites!

An excellent restaurant for BBQ!! Their beef brisket is so tender you can cut it with your fork. Their pork BBQ sauce is vinegar based and is available in mild or medium. If you like spicy food, use their hot sauce! You will receive huge portions of food. Definitely go their hungry!

Great food and we had a excellent waitress...be prepared for alot of food...we will definitely be back when in this area. I almost think they need a bigger restaurant because it was so full... ;)

They aren't lying when they say best banana pudding ever. Hush puppies are amazing as well. Overall good food, friendly staff, fast service.

They offer sandwiches, and plated dinners, salads and pulled pork on a tortilla wrap. The pulled pork was tasty, but just a tad sweet. Green beans were good. I've had better collards. Didn't care for the fries, but they come with the meal. Reasonable priced. Food comes out quickly. Solid place

I have tried a lot of places that serve bbq and ribs. In my opinion The Checkered Pig is #1.

Love the food but DO NOT ORDER CURBSIDE PICK UP. It was 20 minutes from my order time, to when it was ready. Showed up 7 minutes later called them (was told it’d be right out) then waited another 7 minutes on my food before going in to ask when it’d be ready when the man behind the counter became flustered they were so behind until another girl said “I’m getting his puddings now” bagged them and handed me my food that’d been sitting there for who knows how’s long.

Their pulled pork is really good. I've also enjoyed the burgers, the smoked wings, the chicken tenders and their chicken supreme(I think that's what it's called). My family and I have liked everything we've ordered here and have added Checkered Pig to our list of regularly visited restaurants. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that you can't add the pulled pork barbecue to a burger (or anything else, for that matter) without buying a whole barbecue sandwich. I feel like you should be able to add their famous barbecue to any dish without having to buy a whole sandwich for just a side of barbecue. It turns a $5 burger into a $10 burger.

Good Food. Good Service. BBQ is excellent!UPDATE:Crowded..not enough room for people much less wheelchairs. Waitress seemed under stress and extremely overwhelmed waiting tables.

DELICIOUS!!!!! Best BBQ around. They are always my number 1 choice to eat at when I am in Martinsville. The restaurant is always clean and the service is always great. On top of all that, they have incredible prices!

We ordered food to pick up, we live about 20 miles away. We were missing one order, and did not know this until we got home. I know that they get busy, but they should check the orders before they go out the door. I dont think we will be back.

This place has some of the most amazing brisket I've found. My daughter loves the ribs, and my fiance...well he loves all of it. It's well worth the drive!

The food is good. Take out portions were a little small but other wise good place to get BBQ

I wad pleasantly surprised by the food and service. It is a seat yourself place. As you see a table wiped down you go sit. A very busy place. The waitress we had (Christine) was excellent. She was very attentive and kind. The kitchen was fabulous. We got our food fast, and also refills on drinks fast. I would definitely go back.

All the bbq was delicious! I got in at 6 on Tuesday and just beat the crowd, they were super fast! They accidentally gave me chicken instead of brisket and they fixed it and let me have it all.. it was all so good!

Favorite place to eat when in town! Amazing BBQ and classic southern cooking sides. Staff is friendly and service was fairly quick.

Very fast even though they was busy and this bbq is the best in the southern region loved it!!

It was good. Great Smokey flavor. The sides are way too small they come in a tiny cup. So don't expect to get full off of a side.
